One Labs Trash....
Is a lot of trash.... -
This photo blog shows how me and my team took an old forgotten room in the IT tower from a grave yard for old CRT and LCD monitors as well as very ancient PC towers, to one of the most used tech labs the college. I showed the room to a faculty member and asked if they could use the space if I created a lab environment for them. After letting me know what they would like to see in the room I went to work with my team.
Before:
Well as you can see it's a dumping ground for old tech junk.
Not much else really is needed to be said. Wow, what a mess of old equipment. Let's catalog the hardware and get the surplus staff to collect this mess for recycling.
After:
We rewired the lab islands, we brought in new kiosk PCs with auto log in for lab use. The PCs were running deep freeze at the time so they would self reset daily. Not to worry, this was per the request of the faculty that inquired as to what we could do with the room, normally I would lock them down but deep freeze is great at keeping things safe and clean. (even though deep freeze can be annoying.)

A nice project that gave the department a usable lab as well as getting rid of a lot of e-waste.
