About me

~ This Is me ~
I didn’t start in technology, I started in music. As a Yamaha Music School trained jazz percussionist, I had the opportunity to perform and travel throughout much of the world. Eventually, I traded in my suitcases and drumsticks for computer cases, but I carried the same mindset with me: discipline, creativity, and the ability to perform under pressure.
My IT career began at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington, where I spent four years working in gaming and Windows operating systems. That experience sparked a career that now spans more than 27 years across Fortune 500 tech companies, government, and higher education. Along the way, I’ve spent over 16 years in leadership roles, managing teams ranging from small groups to organizations of more than 60 people.
Today, I work in higher education technology at Fresno State, where I focus on connecting people, process, and technology in ways that actually move organizations forward. For me, it’s not just about systems it’s about building teams and creating environments where good work can happen.
Having a background in IT management, psychology, and aviation, I bring a focused, risk-aware approach to building systems and teams that work. I focus on bridging technical execution and soft skills with strategic outcomes, ensuring projects deliver measurable value.
When I’m not working, I’m usually at the airport. I’ve been an FAA-certified Private Pilot since 2012, and aviation plays a big role in how I think about leadership. Flying teaches you quickly that risk isn’t something you avoid, it’s something you manage. Preparation, awareness, and good decision-making truly make all the difference, and those lessons carry directly into my work in IT.
I’m always exploring new technologies AI, virtual and augmented reality, IoT, and 3D printing and looking for ways to apply them in practical, sometimes unconventional ways. Whether it’s at work or at home, I like building, experimenting, researching, and figuring out what’s possible.

I studied at Cal Poly Humboldt focusing on a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Applied Organizational Psychology and Technology Leadership, along with a minor in Organizational Psychology. I also hold an AA in Psychology. From Lake Tahoe Community College. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: bring together technology and people in a way that actually works.
